Wuhan, the epicenter of Coronavirus pandemic, says it has no Coronavirus patients in hospitals

Health officials in Wuhan, the epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic, that has affected over two million people worldwide causing 206,000 known deaths, have revealed that the city’s hospitals do not have any Coronavirus patients.

Mi Feng, the Chinese National Health Commission spokesman, said the number of new Covid-19 patients in the city was zero.

According to Mi Feng, the zero cases recorded in the city is as a result of coordinated efforts between medical personnel across China.

The lockdown in Wuhan was lifted on April 8 but there are still restrictions in the city as regards public transportation.

The Chinese government's reports of 'no cases' in Wuhan is supposed to be good news for the rest of the world, so countries know the disease can be neutralized, but major countries do not trust China's Coronavirus reporting anymore.

World leaders have accused China of suppressing key information about the virus early on, while the U.S. accused China of keeping the World Health Organization under it's control through out the pandemic leading to Trump freezing almost $400m of funding to the WHO.

China said it would donate an additional $30 million to the WHO in response to the U.S. move.

Health experts in the US and Europe also question how China was so successful in controlling the virus when neighboring countries like Singapore have seen new outbreaks.

COVID-19 Pandemic: Businessman Lucky Igbokwe Urges NASS, State Assemblies To Enact Harsher Laws To Curb Non And Partial Disclosure Of Travel And Health History

Citing concerns with the alarming levels of spread and intensity of the novel coronavirus pandemic, businessman and philanthropist, Mr Lucky Igbokwe popularly known as Don Lulu has called for the state and national legislatures to take urgent and aggressive action to stop the spread of the virus by enacting new laws or reinforcing existing ones in order to address the growing cases of non or partial disclosure of health and travel history at hospital admission points by individuals.

He said this has become necessary in view of the scale and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic which has clearly risen to the level of a public health threat that could justify restrictions on certain rights even as the international human rights law guarantees everyone the right to the highest attainable standard of health and requires governments to take steps to prevent threats to public health and to provide medical care to those who need it.

Mr Lucky Igbokwe, who's also the boss of 2Flame Entertainment and UN-Polac Mayor of Peace, expressed worry about the fate of first responders and other health workers who faced threats to their lives due to patients who had refused to disclose their health and travel information during treatment.
He cited a recent statement by the Nigeria Medical Association which revealed that over 40 medical doctors besides other health workers have been infected with the disease so far.

While seeking supplications and healing from the Almighty of the pandemic, he cautioned against attacking the clergy and the church which acording to him, has become the pastime of some people of late. He was hopeful of a scientific breakthrough via prayers while urging all hands to be on deck and to follow all safety protocols in the fight against the virus

"It is not enough for us to sit behind and call Bill and Melinda Gate doomsday prophets. We must rise up to do our part, if we must win this war", Igbokwe concluded.

Ghana records 271 new cases of Coronavirus a week after lifting lockdown

Ghana has confirmed 271 new cases of Coronavirus just a week after lifting lockdown in Accra and Kumasi, the country's two largest cities.

According to Ghana Web, Ghana Health Service (GHS) confirmed the 271 new cases on Sunday to take their total number to 1,550. A new death from the disease was also recorded.

The death toll now stands at 11 with 155 persons recovering from the disease.

The Ghana Health Service data analysis also revealed that 62 percent of infected persons in Ghana are male while 38 percent are female.

It was also disclosed that only 16 percent of infected persons have a travel history with a staggering 84 percent having no clear history of travel.

A week ago, Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lifted a three-week lockdown in two cities, Accra and Kumasi citing improved coronavirus testing and the "severe" impact of the restrictions on the poor and vulnerable in the country.

According to him, the decision did not mean the government was letting its guard down, saying existing bans on public gatherings and school closure were still in place.

He urged Ghanaians to wear masks when going outside and to continue adhering to social distancing measures put in place to halt the spread of Coronavirus.
